Position Overview

As an Online Tutor with Tutor.com, you will conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions in English and ESL with students across the United States. Sessions are delivered through the platform's proprietary virtual classroom, which includes a digital whiteboard, screen sharing, file exchange, and built-in scheduling tools. The role is fully remote with flexible scheduling, allowing you to set your own availability within the platform's operating hours.

Most tutoring sessions run 30–60 minutes, and you will work with students at various proficiency levels, from beginners building foundational English skills to advanced learners refining their academic writing and presentation abilities. Tutor.com provides curriculum guidelines and session templates, but tutors have the autonomy to adapt their approach based on individual student needs and learning goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in any field — Required
• Teaching or tutoring experience preferred, particularly in English, ESL, or language arts
• Strong subject knowledge in English grammar, composition, reading comprehension, and conversational English
• Stable internet connection: minimum 5 Mbps download / 2 Mbps upload
• A reliable computer (Windows or Mac) with a working webcam and headset with noise-canceling microphone
• A quiet, professional teaching environment with good lighting and a neutral background
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
• Availability for at least 10 hours per week during US business and evening hours
